Jefferson County’s 2024 codes and wildfire updates became effective.
For unincorporated parcels, the County’s current code, fee, Wildfire Resiliency Code, and WUI map apply based on the application date and parcel.
Colorado Outdoor Estates Registry
Golden-area postal addresses cross a consequential City–County boundary. The first owner decision is therefore not a design choice: it is a documented jurisdiction finding, followed by WUI, fire, access, grading, retaining, drainage, utilities, and private controls for the actual parcel.
September 4, 2026: City wildfire-code enforcement date checked and added. This was a scoped update, not a fresh review of every County and City requirement.
Authority path
Is the parcel inside Golden or unincorporated Jefferson County, and which WUI, fire, road, utility, and private-review paths apply?
Current local signals
For unincorporated parcels, the County’s current code, fee, Wildfire Resiliency Code, and WUI map apply based on the application date and parcel.
The City identifies June 10, 2026 as the enforcement date for its Wildfire Resiliency Code in designated WUI areas. New construction and qualifying additions, repairs or remodels need a scope-specific check. This is separate from the County’s July 1 code path.
