Natural stone exterior systems
Evaluate stone as an assembly: geology, absorption, freeze–thaw exposure, anchorage or bond, joints, drainage, and compatible adjacent materials.

Architectural concrete
Durability begins with exposure classification, mixture design, consolidation, curing, drainage, joints, and protection—not the final color or texture.

Exterior timber & wood finishes
Species, grade, moisture cycling, detailing, coatings, fasteners, end grain, ventilation, and maintenance expectations must be considered together.

Metals, finishes & corrosion
Material pairing, coating system, water retention, salts, fasteners, fabrication damage, and maintainability shape outdoor metal performance.
- Dissimilar metals can create galvanic corrosion when electrical contact and an electrolyte are present.

Waterproofing & drainage interfaces
The most consequential exterior failures often occur where systems meet: walls and paving, planters and structures, pools and decks, roofs and masonry, or membranes and penetrations.
- Water should be managed through a continuous path from collection to drainage or discharge.
- Penetrations, terminations, changes in plane, and transitions between trades require explicit responsibility.
